The blooms of 'Gryphon John Galt' are light yellow, sometimes close to white, with strong midribs and a green throat. Its first blooms as a seedling were something of a surprise as all of its tet parents were either red or pink.

This flower is named for John Galt, the Scottish writer and colonizer, who wrote a number of major novels based in Scotland and elsewhere. As well, he was also a significant land developer who founded and planned our city of Guelph in 1827.
